Lisa Niemisto, LMSW, CAADC
Lisa joined our staff of therapists at the Marquette office in March, 2018. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Teaching, as well as both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work, and is a CAADC (Certified Advanced Drug and Alcohol Counselor). She has previously worked with sexual assault survivors and women in violent domestic situations at the Marquette Women’s Center. While working with Great Lakes Recovery, she had the opportunity to use her teaching skills and learn more about addiction with teens in a residential setting. Additionally, she was able to assist the UPHS in the Specialty Clinic by working with children with special physical and mental health needs. Lisa also worked as a private practice therapist in Marquette and Munising from 2016 to 2018.She enjoys working with people of all ages, couples and individuals, to help in achieving their best mental health and living substance-free. She is excited to be a part of the CSSUP team!
Susanna Bernier Wahlstrom, FNP-BC
Susanna is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and joined our Marquette staff in May, 2018.
Kaitlyn Adrian started working for CSSUP in June of 2015. A graduate of Michigan State University, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2009 and began work with the Western Peninsula Substance Abuse as a probation office and substance abuse assessor. As a foster care specialist for CSSUP, she spends her time working closely with families and the courts to provide a safe and healthy environment for all of her clients. A lifelong Yooper, Kaitlyn is active in the local Kiwanis chapter in Iron Mountain as well as Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America. She is also an avid runner.
Kris has a bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University and is a Certified Addiction Counselor with International Reciprocity. She has over 20 years of experience in the treatment of substance abuse disorders. Kris has extensive training and experience in providing the following: comprehensive substance abuse evaluations, individual counseling and group therapy, and driver license evaluations. She has a deep and sincere passion for the welfare of people with substance abuse issues, as well as their families. Recovery and healing are possible.
Kristy Howell is a Child Welfare Specialist for Catholic Social Services. Kristy works out of the Iron Mountain office, on a team of Child Welfare case managers who provide foster care, adoption, and foster home licensing across the Upper Peninsula. Kristy brings to CSSUP a well-rounded child welfare background in Foster Care Case Management and Foster Home Licensing recruitment and retention and will be adding Adoption services to her repertoire. Kristy graduated in 1999 from Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota with Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology/Anthropology. Kristy came to CSSUP in September of 2017, after working 17+ years as a Services Specialist for the State of Michigan, Department of Health & Human Services in Dickinson County where she did Foster Home Licensing, Foster Care Case Management, Child Protective Services, and Juvenile Justice Case Management. Kristy has a sincere passion to seek out and encourage others in the community to become foster and/or adoptive parents and make a difference in the lives of the children we serve!
